The Course of Environmental Health |
The faculties in this course conduct research on the issues related to how the living environment and lifestyle affect both individuals and public health, in order to provide insights into the protection and improvement of health for both individuals and the general public. Our multidisciplinary program for graduate students emphasizes human physiology and pathophysiology, with studies ranging from molecules to organisms, endocrinology, behavioral neuroscience, environmental ergonomics, and public health. Students in this course develop interdisciplinary approaches examining the influence of environmental and lifestyle-related factors on the protection and promotion of health. Graduates in this course are expected to take positions in both non-profit and profit-based research organizations. |

The Course of Sport Science |
The course of Sport Science is intended to allow students to develop their own thinking about physical culture, physical activities, and psychological and physiological phenomena raised by human movement, offered by the basic curriculums of the undergraduate course. Physical cultures as a human historical phenomenon, appearing in such forms as gymnastics, sports or dances, should be studied from three core perspectives: human science, social science and natural science. On the basis of these three perspectives our course provides history of sport, sociology of sport, psychology of sports, sport law, sports physiology, and study of physical expression. Sport science, which fundamentally has interdisciplinary and compound features, enables theoretical and verified studies connected with the current academic approaches to other human, social and natural sciences. The course also offers education for the human and life environment on human health, physical fitness and physical activities which are affected by the rapid changes in recent industrial structures. Both theoretical studies and practical instructions for social need are explored. Sport Science is expected as such to be an innovative discipline for the future. |

The Course of Clinical Psychology |
This program conducts research on a variety of psychological problems in modern society, including depression, anxiety, addiction, school-refusal, and delinquency. From the point of view of clinical psychology, students will learn psychological assessment techniques, as well as research methods, to deepen their comprehension of psychological problems within a scientific framework. In addition, students will receive comprehensive education and training in order to provide counseling and psychotherapy services to persons suffering from a full range of psychological issues. This education and training includes supervision provided by an appropriate faculty member as well as supervised practical application, in the form of practicum courses at The Center for Clinical Psychology, in addition to off-campus training institutes. This program is designed for students who are planning to work as clinical psychologists in the future. The program has been approved as a Class 1 Designated Graduate School by the Foundation of the Japanese Certification Board for Clinical Psychologists. On completion of the course requirements, including the practicum courses, students are qualified to sit for the Clinical Psychologist Qualification Examination. |
